Preparing and Motivating your teams at the beginning of each year sets the tone for a successful journey ahead. For this FY18, FinancialForce hosted its Global Field Kickoff (GFK) in sunny San Diego at Hotel del Coronado in late February, focusing on three important themes.
Investing in our people
Investing in your people starts with enabling them to succeed. And with any successful kickoff, you need to begin by putting a solid enablement strategy in place. To do so, there must be involvement prior to, during and after the event. Using the SalesHood platform, our teams were able to dive in immediately with learning modules tied to our products, customers and partners leading up to the event as well as after.
Our sales methodology is closely tied to Barry Rhein’s “Selling Through Curiosity” training and we wanted to continue focusing on this throughout the year. “Always Be Curious” became our mantra and we aimed to perpetuate this theme across the entire field organization – including Sales, Customer Success and Professional Services teams.
In addition to hands-on training and breakout sessions throughout the three days, we had 8 of our amazing customers join us for keynotes and in fireside chats. There’s no doubt about it – customers say it best. These special presentations gave the team insights to where we shine and where we can polish our act. It further inspired our teams, which in turn will continue to help us make our customers wildly successful.
Wellness is a big factor when it comes to investing in our people, and we made sure to nurture that with morning yoga sessions on the beach. Namaste. We also held an awards dinner to celebrate our entire field organization for the successful past year.
Setting the future vision
Our CEO, Tod Nielsen, President of Global Field Operations, Joe Fuca and Senior Vice President of Product, Debbie Ashton, fired our teams up with an exciting vision for the coming year and beyond. With assistance from Solutions Engineers and Product Strategy managers, everyone in the organization was able to get fresh perspectives on the exciting ways our solutions are shaping the future of Cloud ERP.
With the the help of our event sponsors – Conga, AppFrontier, Avalara, Vena Solutions, HRMS, Icon Cloud Consulting, NTT Data, Nubik, CLDpartnerse, WiPro, VFP Consulting and eBenefits, we are truly able to do great things as one team. The conversations were plentiful at the Curiosity Partner Lounge, where our teams took away suggestions on what we can do pre and post sales-cycle to continue our successful partnerships.
Giving back to the community
One of the most rewarding aspects of GFK was our FinancialForce4Good event where our FF4Good committee lead, Tommy Jarvis, introduced us to Positive Adventures. Over 300 of our attendees built bicycles for La Hacienda Learning Center. At the end of the experience we were able to present these bicycles to underprivileged children. It was truly incredible. We also donated flowers from our awards dinner to a Hospice.
Thanks to a huge team effort and the help of our wonderful partnership with Vision Global Event Strategies, the event was a huge success that left our field organization motivated, inspired and leaving San Diego with information to get them ready for this FY18!
